Armando Campero became a citizen of the USA, in 1989, yet his bio, specifically reports he remained a Mexican citizen. He died of cancer, yet is still reported alive on most auctions with his work. Tragedy in his life took many forms. The majority of his murals and political commentary was directed toward the many issues experienced by immigrants from Mexico. I'm not referring to what some folk see as our "border crisis" or unwanted immigration of current times. He was a voice for very essential migrants and immigrants who lived in the USA in the 1950's, 60's, 70's. Unlike his teacher, mentor Diego Rivera, his was not a message strong in political theory, or party. He showed us all in huge murals and creations the life color and happiness he wanted shared.

This will be a page for a prolific Mexican-American artist. The first artist to paint murals in Los Angeles. Wonder what became of Armando Campero? So did I. Stay tuned I'll tell the story. What parts of it I could verify. The rest is up to people who knew him.
